Start construction of social housing De Akkerranden
07-06-2023
The construction of 24 social housing units in phase 5 of new construction project De Akkerranden in Oudenhoorn has officially begun. Anja van der Sijde (Woonstichting De Zes Kernen), Alderman Igor Bal (Municipality of Voorne aan Zee), Paul Opstal (BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling) and Guido Voermans (VORM) came together to celebrate this festive moment.
Phase 5 forms the final piece of the sustainable residential neighborhood with a total of 180 homes. The new village-style residential area offers a diverse group of people the opportunity to live in a pleasant neighborhood with low living costs. All social housing will be delivered with low energy costs thanks to an air source heat pump and solar panels.
The Akkerranden is characterized by the free and rural location in relation to the village of Oudenhoorn and Hellevoetsluis, the child-friendly and village-like design and the attention paid to energy efficiency and affordability. Along the edge of the plan a flowery green border will be realized for enrichment of biodiversity. De Akkerranden residential area was designed by Kokon Architecture & Urban Development.
VORM will deliver the last homes in the third quarter of 2024.
