Rotterdam has dozens of green roofs. Not only does this make the city look greener, but the greenery also acts as a buffer during rain runoff and ensures that a roof lasts longer. This approach fits well with Kokon's vision of climate adaptive urbanism.

During the City Makers Congress 2023, urban planners Arvid and Bouwe took part in an inspiring tour of the green roof of the Doelen. They also visited the workshop 'Place for Place Makers', on the availability of workplaces in the city, and Studio Stadmaken, on the challenges of successful participation by Rotterdam citizens.
