On the Westkade / Hoofdwachtstraat of Hellevoetsluis a new apartment complex will be built in the style of the surrounding buildings. Twenty-one residential units are fitted into a carefully defined urban design setting based on the assumption that individual apartments are not clearly defined in the facade. Even the slightest reference to an apartment complex should be avoided at this beautiful but sensitive location.
The result is in line with the architecture of the various buildings and styles along the Koopvaardijhaven. A clear accent is the large white building mass. In the historical surroundings such masses are authentic elements out of Hellevoetsluis' maritime history. Hence the integration of this logical element into the complex's architecture.
At the moment the design is being refined, and apartments will go on sale in 2018. Completion is expected in 2019.
