Baraque Roustique, Gers, Frankrijk
For the Roest-Creemers family, an ample vacation villa was designed, atop a beautiful hill in the French Gers region.
The main challenge in the design was to encorporate local architecture in a modern villa. Off course, the local climate asks for a lot of shade and naturally, a swimming pool.
Implementing the local wooden shed-roof shape in the design received the acclamation of the local mayor, resulting in a start of the building process in 2008.
2 brick masses, interconnected by a glass corridor placed on a concrete base are the essence of the design, resulting in a characteristical landmark in the landscape.
