Castellum
Mossenest II is the latest addition to Noordwijkerhout’s districts. The district is realised according to an urban plan by Kokon. Many of the parts of this plan are also designed by Kokon, which approaches our agency’s ideals: integration of urban planning and architecture.
The district’s core consists of the Castellum. This neighbourhood is designed in the shape of an iron and is completely surrounded by water, like a moat.
The project is accessible via three bridges (one exclusively for pedestrians) that lead to the courtyard, which is surrounded by 48 town houses and 37 apartments. The town houses are provided with a private garden at the court side, and have a terrace all along the front facade. The apartments have large terraces and large balconies at the waterside.
