De Schooten (1)

As part of redevelopment plans for the De Schooten district of Den Helder, Kokon has designed three apartment blocks for senior citizens, situated at the Adam Schuurmanstraat, Pieter Korffstraat and the Folkert Lambertsstraat.

All apartments are situated along a semi public common courtyard, that provides a safe and pleasant environment.

The architecture is defined by a mediterranean style: gradually sloping roofs with low gutters and large overhang. This diverges from the surrounding buildings. A great amount of differentiation in ‘life resistent’ apartment types is provided for the residents.
