In order to renovate gallery apartment buildings in a quick, smart and maintenance-free way, Kokon has developed the 'slide-over gallery'. This renovation method makes it possible for the energy transition of gallery flats to be realised from the outside, while residents can remain in their homes.

This slide-over gallery is composed of several parts: a wear-resistant top layer, a water-draining intermediate layer, an insulating bottom layer, assembled into a shape that can be slid integrally over the existing gallery. Installations can be integrated between the consoles, transforming the apartment building into ‘all electric’, including cooling during the summer.

By also installing a widened gallery, it is possible to pass each other safely, taking into account the 1½-meter safety margin in these pandemic times.
