Nieuwland-Oost
The district of Nieuwland-Oost is situated at the eastern side of Brielle, and is inspired by the old Brielle fortress.
Houses were designed with different Dutch historical architectural references in mind, in the likeness of a village (more informal, lower build, max. two floors), a small town (more formal, slightly higher build, max. three floors) and city (formal, up to four floors).
Even the waterways are designed to reflect those atmospheres, with informal creeks with soft watersides as well as formal canals with quays.
Observed closely, the likenesses of bastions, ravelins and city walls reveal themselves.
