Parklaanflat
The Parklaanflat (1933) is an immensely modern building by architect Van Tijen at the corner of Parklaan and Parkstraat, in the Scheepvaartkwartier (maritime district) of Rotterdam. Built as a steel structure, the building has seven floors and is optimised for maximum divisibility, and also the first building with a glass curtain wall in The Netherlands. Van Tijen himself owned an apartment in the building, that has the status of national heritage site (Rijksmonument).
