Salem church
The Salem church is the church building of the members of the Reformed congregation. The denomination originated in Lisse in the mid-19th century. The current church building on Tulpenstraat was designed in 1935 by architect A.F. Fresen from Wageningen. Construction of the new presbytery began in 1953. The association building is again of later date. The Salem church is a hall church on a cruciform ground plan.
To properly facilitate church members and ancillary services, adaptations were needed to the church's annex building. This hall complex is of later date than the original monument and can be extended within the frameworks.
The design provides for an extension in style of the church building, adding new volume. Optimising the division of space and improving routing will create an efficient floor plan with a spacious entrance and various ancillary rooms for the various activities and youth groups of the church congregation.
