Villa Huizen

The starting point in designing the villa in Huizen is realizing a plan that responds well to the underlying plot and at the same time provides a passive home. .

The orientation of this plot is in such a way that the facade is oriented towards the south. Sufficient glass on the south is a must for a passive house and a challenge every time.

Fortunately, the plot has a spacious front garden, in which the privacy can be arranged well through high hedges. A large glass wall on the south has thus become the guiding principle for the design.

By dividing the façade clearly into an open and a closed part, a representative whole is created. A lot of glass is also combined with structural wood. The horizontal slats finally finish the design and prevent overheating in the summer.
