Villa Stela

Designing a villa in the province of Noord-Holland, entirely accoring to Passive House principles, is quite a challenge.

The local variety of farm-style building, the 'stolpboerderij', provided an excellent basis for the design. Materialisation also refers to local traditions. The Passive House score was deteremined to be 10 kWh/m²/y.

An ambition that proves to be beautifully achievable, by careful optimisation of air-permeability, insulation and ventilation.
